Vaio PCG-FX401 will not detect RAM in slot 2 - Sony The Vaio will only detect the module in slot 1 (regardless of which module is fitted there) and does not detect the second module.Well as far as I know and I may be wrong, your Vaio should boot with a stick of Ram in either slot but obviously if its not recognised when inserted in the 2nd slot it won't... I hear about this frequently. The computer did not have RAM in the slot from the factory, and when someone tries to add RAM, it does not recognize it.

I recently cloned my hdd to ssd using Samsung Data Migration Software. Everything was working well. But he the old hdd which I have now installed using a HDD caddy in the optical drive slot is not being recognized in the device manager or disk management tool.
